PSAS Projects

Portland State Aerospace Society (PSAS) have been making progress on their capstone projects with more work continuing on their nose/stage separation system, shown below in the picture and working in the video.

The group have also been working on a small CubeSat, to be Oregon’s first satellite, shown below in a video of the reaction wheel testing. The reaction wheels are spun up and the speed of the wheels changed to make the satellite reorient itself, this avoids the use of rocket motors and is ideal for maneuvering of a CubeSat size satellite (note the satellite can only be moved around its centre of mass with this system).

Remember everything PSAS do is opensource, not like other open source groups that claim they are and do not publish the specifics, PSAS publish everything and this can be all found on their GitHub page!
